Activity Description
Review what students learned about the importance of native bees, and coding with the bee bots in their recent “Protecting Native Pollinators“ lesson.
Give students access to the online activity using the link provided. Activity will work better if students work independently, but pairing students with one laptop works as well!
Students should start by watching the instructional video that goes over the basic goals and instructions of the activity.
Remind the students that each flower has a different number of nectars, and to collect them all before moving on so they can make all the honey!
Once everyone has completed the game, gather the class together for discussion. What was challenging about this activity? How was this simulation similar to how a real bee pollinates? How was it different?
